However, there are some memories from my school days that I still remember today because they were too painful. You could say that I experienced verbal bullying during my elementary, junior high, and high school years. At my three levels of education, there would always be one or two men who made fun of me physically. Even now, I don’t understand their purpose for doing it all.

I am most often bullied about the shape of my lips. They said my lips’ shape is so big, or you could say in Indonesian it is “dower.” There was even one boy whose name I still remember today saying that I was one of the two ugliest girls in the class at that time. The insults from them all affected my confidence. For years I cursed myself, always judging myself that I was ugly and significantly below the standards of other women.

But luckily, when I was in college, my self-confidence gradually increased because I was in the right friendship environment. For that, I am not bored to say that, indeed, the school years were a fun time because, at that time, we did not have too much of a burden on our minds, but the college years were the most enjoyable time for me while I was studying.

Above I have told about the bitter memories from my school days, but I also got a lot of happy memories of when I was at school. I have friends who are very kind and also competent. The teachers who taught me at school were also very kind and fun to teach. That is why I am still grateful until now to be able to finish my education well.
